DATABASE ANALYST PRINCIPAL

Deliver insights to help our clients turn data into action as a Database Manager at GDIT. Your work will provide transformative solutions to our clients' big-data obstacles and help advance the mission. Here, you can make a meaningful impact on our clients' mission and on your career.
At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Database Manager you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Database Manager joining our team to administer, operate, and maintain enterprise Microsoft (MS) SQL services in support of managed, or approved, systems. Support includes, but is not limited to, the following: database clustering, database management, security, performance analysis, backup and restoration, and Microsoft Windows Server operating system support.
HOW A DATABASE MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Manages the development of data base projects.

Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases.

Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.

Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.

Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.

Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.

May provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a database environment.

Prepares and delivers presentations on data base management systems (DBMS) concepts.

Plans and budgets staff and data base resources. When necessary, reallocates resources to maximize benefits.

May provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.

Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:

A Master's Degree (in subjects described above) and eight years general experience of which at least six years must be specialized experience. or

No degree and thirteen years of general experience of which at least eleven years must be specialized experience.
Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience which at least eight years must be specialized.
Required Technical Skills: demonstrated experience with data base design and system analysis, current operating systems software internals and data manipulation languages. General experience includes increasing responsibilities in the development and maintenance of data base systems.
Security Clearance Level: Secret
Location: On Customer Site
US Citizenship Required

Required Certifications: DoWD 8570.01 IAT-II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE), Windows Server Administrator certification

TESA eligibility/certification required.

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
