Responsibilities

The EIM Data Management Specialist performs unit and systems integration testing of all aspects of a data warehouse/marts and business intelligence (BI) environments. Develops and tests defined reports and applications to ensure that they meet specifications. Assists with and participates in the completion of documentation for supported systems. Translates business functional requirements into technical requirements and utilizes sound technical knowledge of business intelligence tools to develop simple to complex reports/reporting applications/analytic tools from the specifications. Has strong metadata skills. Troubleshoots supported systems, reporting, and BI tool problems. Provides analytical review and interpretation of integrated data and reports to ensure the dissemination of logical, consistent and accurate information. May be working on multiple projects at one time, stressing a customer-focused approach that includes consistent and timely communication. Works in conjunction with analysts and associates to propose solutions and strategies that position the customer optimally with regard to application and data management opportunities and functions. Demonstrates flexibility by changing work roles as needed.

This position is a combination of remote and on-site work; individual must live within a 100 mile driving distance to the Jacksonville, Phoenix or Rochester Mayo Clinic campus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with one to three years of relevant experience is required; prefer degree in related field. 

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with business intelligence and/or business systems, tools and applications required. Understands relational and multi-dimensional database structures and schemas. Possesses strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills. Incumbent must be a self-motivated, self-directed and a highly organized individual who will promote a productive, collegial workplace and be a professional ambassador for Mayo Clinic. Belief in the mission and strong ethical conduct is essential. Requires the flexibility to work weekends and evenings when necessary. Occasional travel is required. Master's degree preferred.Requires excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to work in a complex environment with multi-dimensional points of view. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be comfortable with ambiguity. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence, and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential. Must be proficient in the use of information technology and management of database systems and/or applications.
