Your Role: US Customer Master Data Steward

As the US Customer Master Data Steward, you will be a vital member of the US Customer Master Department, responsible for the integrity and accuracy of Elanco's foundational customer data. In this role, you will own the creation and ongoing maintenance of master data records for veterinarians, agents, and distributors. Your work is critical as these records form the backbone of our customer interactions, shipping, pricing, billing, and sales compensation, directly impacting financial transactions and customer eligibility for key commercial activities. You will partner closely with internal teams and external agents, applying strict data governance procedures to ensure our data ecosystem is precise, compliant, and reliable.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and ongoing maintenance of all U.S. customer master data within the global Master Data Management (MDM) system and SAP, ensuring accuracy for financial transactions, product shipment, pricing, and sales compensation.

  • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams (Account Services, Credit, Sales, Accounting, Tax, Distribution) and external Agents to investigate and resolve complex data, compliance, and order/invoice issues.

  • Drive data integrity by meticulously researching, validating, and classifying customer records according to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.

  • Independently manage a high volume of Data Change Requests (DCRs) and projects, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to pivot between tasks in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • Experience:A minimum of 3 years of experience in data stewardship, data management, or a related technical role requiring a high degree of accuracy and data entry.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with SAP in a data maintenance capacity.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.

  • Strong general computer skills and demonstrated learning agility for mastering new systems.

  • Core Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven, meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone etiquette for customer interaction.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Experience with Salesforce.

  • A background in other master data domains (e.g., Material Master, Vendor Master), IT Help Desk, or Industrial Engineering.

  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and exercise sound judgment in a hybrid work environment.

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role that involved technical support or troubleshooting.
