TEAM DESCRIPTION
The Data Operations team provides oversight of the data generated throughout the campaign delivery and performance optimization throughout its lifecycle. They will also work with other internal practice teams of Digital Analytics, Planning, and Digital Investment. You will provide oversight of all digital media buys to ensure that they are following process, purchased, and inputted according to organizational standards. This role requires a strong familiarity with all available analytics and technology tools, both syndicated and proprietary. Candidate must have a mindset towards fostering processes through automation.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Manager, Data Management, is responsible for guiding the development, oversight, and execution of data-driven solutions and business intelligence across marketing and media activities. This role acts as a strategic link among Digital Media, Marketing Sciences, and offshore technology teams-ensuring optimized campaign delivery and performance through all phases of campaign management. The ideal candidate combines technical acumen, an eye for process automation and data governance, and strong organizational and leadership skills, consistently driving innovation and operational excellence for internal teams and external clients.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Strategic Data Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain scalable data strategies, technical solutions, and data governance processes to address unique business challenges and account objectives.
Team & Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the liaison among internal digital, marketing science, analytics, investment teams, offshore resources, and external partners to ensure cohesive data integration, campaign tracking, and project alignment.
Project & Process Management: Manage projects from requirements definition to completion, ensuring clear communication, timely delivery, and resolution of roadblocks through project management best practices and platforms.
Data Operations & Quality Assurance: Oversee the integrity and quality of data generated throughout campaign delivery and optimization lifecycles. Lead efforts in data harmonization, cleansing, QA, and reconciliation to ensure flawless performance tracking and reporting.
Campaign Oversight: Provide oversight of digital media buys and data flows, ensuring processes are followed and all activities meet organizational and industry standards across programmatic, digital, search, social, and offline media channels.
Innovation & Automation: Drive adoption of the latest data operations methodologies and leverage automation to increase efficiency and data accuracy within operational processes.
Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance and oversight to team members, promote a collaborative and positive team environment, and champion continuous learning and professional development.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
3-5 years' experience in data management, data engineering, data operations and/or business intelligence
1-3 years' experience in an advertising agency environment (analytics, ad operations, marketing sciences, digital investment, business analysis preferred)
3-5 years' experience in digital media data (ad server, search, social, video, offline, etc.), data governance, and quality processes in data warehousing or ETL environments
2+ years' experience in client-facing roles and managing project teams (including offshore is a plus)
In-depth knowledge of processes across multiple media channels; comfort with diverse dataset types (paid, owned, etc.)
Familiarity with campaign management and performance optimization processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve data anomalies
Advanced verbal, written, organizational, and project management skills; comfortable juggling multiple priorities
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Experience in process automation/continuous improvement initiatives
