Position Summary

The Client Data Manager provides specialized technical support to the Transaction Tax Division by acquiring, transforming, and managing client data for use by Associates, Managers, and Directors. This role ensures the accuracy and usability of financial data, enabling effective tax analysis and compliance. Acting as a liaison between clients and internal teams, the Manager drives data integrity and timely insights across multiple engagements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage professionally with clients to obtain required data in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Review and interpret ERP system tables (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) to understand data structures.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and create detailed reports, data visualizations, and dashboards
  • Implement processes for data validation, cleaning, and quality assurance to maintain the accuracy and integrity of data across all sources.
  • Enhance existing client files by adding relevant data fields to support analysis.
  • Reconcile client data with general ledger (G/L) records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform statistical sampling using IDEA software to support transaction tax analysis.
  • Respond to specific data requests from Transaction Tax Associates, Managers, and Directors.
  • Supervise Associates within the Client Data team, providing guidance and oversight.
  • Collaborate with tax, finance, and IT teams to streamline data flows and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Efficiently manage high-volume workloads and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a centralized log of all client data projects for team visibility and tracking.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for tax data processes, controls, and system mappings.
  • Track time spent on client data projects to support ROI analysis and client billing.

Education and Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Accounting, Information Systems, or related field) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data management, financial systems, or tax-related services.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge in Word and Access
  • Experience with data analysis and conversion tools such as IDEA, SQL, Python, OmniPage, and UltraEdit
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday etc.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal, written, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
