RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position is responsible for performing changes and approving data requests through our master data applications timely and accurately, collecting and reporting data to support day-to-day operations and specific business decisions. Helps to identify and resolve any data quality issues through allocated data cleansing and testing tasks. Engage with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across the organization with a primary focus on Master Item/Supply Chain processes. Areas of experience may include master data, plant experience, or other Supply Chain areas in addition to functional processes and systems. 

Tasks associated with the role: 

  • Monitor Master Data Management systems and central email box throughout the day for new master item set ups and master item updates and approve them as necessary. This could include: setting up new site locations, maintenance of item descriptions, creating new reference data records and various other duties that pertain to Master Item. 
  • Assist with the onboarding of items into our systems through acquisitions and drive Data Quality to our documented standards.
  • Understand the flow of the data between systems and coordinate with parties when issues arise.
  • Support quarterly testing for Oracle and ensure the system works with the changes being implemented.
  • Support testing activities for system enhancements that affect Master Item for processing and document procedures and data standards as needed.
  • Support testing activities for Oracle PLM as it onboards to the Hormel Enterprise.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders as needed to support system updates for clarity for various Master Item activities including, but not limited to: site updates, long description updates, work with data owners to ensure clear understanding of the data attributes are correct.
  • Ambition to cross train team members for full understanding of MDM processes and support data governance across the enterprise.
  • Work with data stewards in the business to resolve data quality issues in source systems. 
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of master data across systems and applications. 
  • Coordinate activities among project teams and data governance working groups for process enhancements and data quality.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve data quality issues across assigned data domains. 


 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years of experience in data entry, data quality, data management, or data governance 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Well-organized and proven attention to detail 
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and web browsers with the ability to troubleshoot complex problems 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide support to business users 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer 

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in data management, marketing, ecommerce, computer science, information technology, or related field
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud platforms and Data Governance processes

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Master/Senior Data Administrator role is between $20.25 - $28.50 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
