Job description

Job Type
Contract
Description
Integrity Engineering & Design Solutions (Integrity EDS) is seeking an experienced SolidWorks PDM / CAD Data Management Consultant for a contract engagement supporting one of our engineering clients.
The client has an existing mechanical CAD environment that needs to be better organized before migrating its files into SolidWorks PDM.
The consultant will review the existing CAD data and help establish a practical structure for managing mechanical components, assemblies, subassemblies, reference models, part numbers, and related engineering data.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Review existing SolidWorks files, assemblies, libraries, and file organization.
  • Recommend a logical structure for mechanical components, assemblies, subassemblies, and CAD reference objects.
  • Help establish appropriate naming, classification, and part-numbering practices.
  • Determine how existing CAD data should be mapped into the new structure.
  • Assist with planning the migration into SolidWorks PDM.
  • Identify and help resolve legacy file-reference issues, including broken assembly links.
  • Recommend processes for maintaining the CAD/PDM library after the migration.
  • Coordinate with Integrity EDS and the client throughout the engagement.

This is not primarily a mechanical design or drafting position. The focus is on CAD data organization, SolidWorks PDM, file management, and engineering-data structure.
This is an independent contractor position representing Integrity EDS.
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have hands-on experience with:
  • SolidWorks
  • SolidWorks PDM administration, implementation, or migration
  • Mechanical CAD data and file management
  • CAD library organization
  • SolidWorks assembly and file-reference management
  • Mechanical part and assembly classification
  • Engineering naming and part-numbering systems
  • Legacy CAD data cleanup or migration

Experience with ERP, PLM, configuration management, or engineering change control is helpful but not required.
Candidates whose experience is primarily SolidWorks modeling, drafting, or mechanical product design without significant PDM or CAD data-management experience are unlikely to be a fit for this engagement.
When Applying
Please provide:
  • A brief description of your relevant SolidWorks PDM and CAD data-management experience.
  • Your hourly rate to Integrity EDS.
  • Your current availability and approximate hours available per week.
  • Your earliest available start date.
  • Any questions you would need answered before committing to the project.
