Job description

Overview
As a member of our Sales Strategy and Operations team, you will have an integral role in driving the insights, operations, and strategy that enables Sales to run better, faster, and smarter. Sales Strategy and Operations is an excellent platform to learn how a business really runs.  Prior candidates that our leadership team has worked with have gone on to be VPs and COOs of companies.

You will be joining the Sales Strategy and Operations team as a high impact contributor, gaining exposure to a wide variety of challenges, processes, and data that makes the engine of this Sales organization hum. As an Associate on the team, you will lead cross-functional initiatives from ideation to analytics to recommendations to drive impact across the sales organization.
Why Data?
  • Data is the foundation of our go-to-market strategy. It supports all parts of our sales motion, including:
  • Creating customer profiles to identify & target high value buyers
  • Identifying & facilitating key growth opportunities, e.g., entering markets in previously untapped geographies
  • Segmenting our sales team and defining sales representative patches
  • Populating and maintaining an accurate universe of buyers
We recognize the importance of data to our scalability and success, and we aim to make it a core competency of our business.
What You'll Do
  • Improve data quality & value: identify opportunities to use data to grow revenue. Find new methods for lead generation. Increase sales prospecting efficiency by improving the accuracy of our data.
  • Design internal products: design and oversee the engineering development of revenue-generating products for our sales team.
  • Source & evaluate vendors: conduct market analyses to compare vendor capabilities to satisfy key business requirements; evaluate vendor quality & present recommendations to the leadership team.
Requirements
  • Technical Mastery & Data Architecture

    • Advanced SQL proficiency is a must: You should be comfortable writing complex, performant queries to extract insights from messy, large-scale datasets.
    • Analytics Stack: Experience with Python for advanced automation and Looker/Tableau for visualization is highly preferred. You should be able to move a project from raw warehouse data to a polished executive dashboard independently.

    Strategic Problem Solving

    • High-impact self-starter: You take initiative to move projects forward and operate with high autonomy. You are excited by the challenge of "owning" the data layer of a cross-functional workstream in a fast-paced environment.
    • Analytical Rigor: You "nerd out" about data accuracy. You can quickly structure analyses to answer critical business questions and provide the data-driven evidence needed to influence company strategy.

    Communication & Operational Excellence

    • Stakeholder Management: You bridge the gap between the technical and the non-technical. You can translate a Sales Rep's "wish list" into technical requirements for Data Engineers and then explain the results back to a business audience.
    • Process Documentation: You iterate quickly to find a solution and then have the discipline to document your logic and workflows so they are reproducible and easy for others to understand.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or a highly technical Consulting role.
  • Academic Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Economics).
  • Tooling: Expert-level Excel is expected; hands-on experience with dbt or Airflow is a significant plus.
