This is a critical leadership position that will be responsible for driving the data management agenda within Capital One’s Retail Banking division. The successful candidate will possess a deep subject matter expertise in data management practices and risk management frameworks. The role also requires excellent problem solving, communication, and judgment skills. The ability to navigate within a complex, fast moving environment is also a must.On any given day you will be:* Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of Big Data technologies and development of a program to train and enhance associate skill-sets* Creating leading-edge data products that uncover opportunities for improvement* Leading governance of our data assets, including development of a governance plan and structure* Develop and execute on data management strategy* Define and monitor KRI’s and escalate areas of non-compliance as appropriate* Oversee the design and execution of data controls* Oversee data quality monitoring and data issue management practices* Monitor the health of data catalog metadata* Manage team of high performing data professionals* Reporting on data analysis activities to partner groups, incorporating novel reporting and data visualization techniquesKey accountabilities:* Partner with various engineering and enterprise functions in adopting and informing data flow standards across ingestion, transformation, access and publishing* Driving data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of cloud native technologies* Development of a program to train and enhance associate skill sets and actively championing the usage and adoption of data tools and solutions across the entire RDB Data Analyst community* Lead the ongoing migration from an on-premise implementation to a cloud based (AWS) implementation* Strategic orientation in their ability to define roadmaps in an incremental way to support business goalsThis position will be in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment where you will be handling multiple concurrent projects while working independently and in teams. An ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities in addition to communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Prior experience creating organization roadmaps and driving strategy execution.Basic Qualifications* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field) plus at least 7 years of experience performing data analytics, or currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Master’s Degree plus at least 5 years of experience performing data analytics with an expectation that required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date.* At least 5 years of experience performing professional data analysis work* At least 5 years of experience leading and developing with open source data technologies* At least 2 years of experience managing peoplePreferred Qualifications: * Master’s Degree or PhD in a Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field* At least 7 years of experience in statistical or econometrics hands-on work* At least 5 years of experience manipulating and performing analysis with large data sets* At least 5 years of experience in financial services industry* At least 5 years of experience in developing statistical or econometric models* At least 5 years of experience in validating statistical or econometric models* At least 2 years of experience with data governance* At least 2 years of experience with predictive analyticsCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Data Analysis ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
