Position Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Metadata Management Analyst to support enterprise-wide Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Quality initiatives within a large financial services environment.
This role will play a critical part in advancing data governance capabilities by partnering with business and technical stakeholders to establish, maintain, and improve metadata standards, business glossaries, data catalogs, data lineage, and governance processes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with data governance frameworks, metadata tools, and cross-functional teams to improve data transparency, integrity, and accessibility.
This is an excellent opportunity for a data governance professional who is passionate about helping organizations become more data-driven while ensuring strong governance, compliance, and data management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Business Data Owners, Data Stewards, and technical teams to identify, document, and catalog enterprise data assets.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of metadata management and data governance best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance metadata repositories, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data catalog content.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish consistent business definitions, terminology, and data standards across the organization.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related to metadata, data lineage, and governance initiatives.
  • Support metadata governance processes for new projects, system enhancements, and enterprise data initiatives.
  • Identify metadata gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with data lineage documentation and visualization to improve transparency across data flows and business processes.
  • Partner with technology teams to support metadata management tools, including testing, implementation, upgrades, and production support activities.
  • Support metadata classification, taxonomy development, and data lifecycle management efforts.
  • Maintain governance controls to ensure data is accurate, discoverable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication and promote data literacy across the organization.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to data governance, metadata management, and enterprise data strategy.
Required Skills/Education:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience supporting Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Enterprise Data Management programs.
  • Experience working within financial services, banking, lending, or other large enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with data catalogs, metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and business glossaries.
  • Understanding of data lineage, data lifecycle management, and enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Experience documenting data assets, business definitions, metadata standards, and governance requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) programs.
  • Experience with metadata management platforms such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, or similar tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining business glossaries and enterprise data standards.
  • Knowledge of data classification frameworks, metadata taxonomies, and data governance policies.
  • Experience documenting and visualizing data lineage across enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with data governance tool implementation, testing, and enhancement activities.
  • Exposure to lending data, financial services data domains, or regulatory reporting environments.
  • Understanding of enterprise data quality, risk management, and compliance practices.
