Job description

Our client is seeking a Business Data Analyst to evaluate and integrate alternative investment data across enterprise systems, focusing on data lineage analysis, gap identification, and requirements definition to align alternative asset portfolios with the firm's strategic data models.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Analyze alternative investment data currently maintained outside strategic systems and compare datasets against enterprise systems of record
  • Perform detailed data lineage, impact analysis, and data mapping to identify quality, completeness, and integration gaps
  • Partner with Alternative Investments and Middle Office teams to understand business requirements, assess data criticality, and define functional specifications
  • Identify and document data mapping discrepancies and prioritize gaps based on business impact
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement integration of alternative investment data into the strategic operating model
  • Prepare comprehensive business process documentation, data mappings, gap analysis reports, and recommendations
  • Present findings and insights to business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment and decision-making

Requirements
  • 8-15 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or investment operations
  • Strong proficiency in data governance, data lineage analysis, data mapping, and SQL
  • Demonstrated expertise in alternative investments, private assets, and portfolio data management
  • Experience with investment operations and data quality assessment across complex datasets
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to work across business and technical teams
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex data requirements
