Job description

Job Title: Lead Cable Technician (with travel)
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (must be local to the SLC area)
Pay Rate: $20 - $35/hr
Position Summary:
Overtime available! Anistar is seeking an experienced Structured Cable Technicians to aid with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables as well as security/access control equipment. MUST be comfortable working from a lift.
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
Technicians MUST have experience working with various cables. Cable installation includes pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling. BICSI cert (current or past) a plus but not needed. IDF/MDF, rack install, fiber termination and testing experience a plus. We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.
Must have experience with the following:
  • Candidate must be local to the SLC area
  • Daily per diem, mileage, drive time, and OT provided if traveling
  • Must be willing to use their own vehicle
  • Corning Unicam or Panduit Opticam terminations
  • Capable of working independently
  • Proficient with fiber and copper
  • Service/troubleshoot network/POS systems
  • Pulling, routing, installing and terminating structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment.
  • 2+ years' experience LEADING installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
  • Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
  • Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
  • Ability to provide two professional references.
