Role Summary
The Data Analyst, Senior Specialist role analyzes complex datasets to provide actionable insights, optimize processes, and support decision-making. This role involves leading analytics projects, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with teams to deliver data-driven solutions. The position also includes mentoring peers and driving automation to enhance business efficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced analytics and statistical modeling on diverse business datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within data to support informed decision-making across business functions.
  • Utilize machine learning techniques and sophisticated analytical methods to uncover trends and insights from structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Define data requirements, oversee data collection processes, and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of the data.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, including the development of tools and methods to measure and enhance data integrity.
  • Design and implement automated systems for data collection, processing, and reporting to streamline workflows and improve business agility.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand business strategies, objectives, and challenges, and translate these into actionable analytical projects.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion, offering strategic and tactical guidance to team members and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the analytics subject matter expert, providing insights and recommendations for enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.

  • Foster the growth of the analytics community at Vanguard by mentoring and coaching peers, while connecting them with training resources and development opportunities.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in data science and analytics, sharing insights and presenting at analytics seminars to contribute to knowledge-sharing within the organization.
  • Own and manage recurring analytic and reporting processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in data delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data-related workflows, driving operational efficiency and supporting business agility.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed and take on other tasks or duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum of 12 years corporate experience
  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience in data analytics, management and modelling.
  • Proven Marketing & Distribution Analytics leader
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior business partners
  • Exceptional data storytelling through visualization
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis platforms.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in data collection, cleaning, and quality assurance to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Familiarity with data automation and process optimization.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading data-driven projects.
  • Familiarity with big data tools or platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
