Brown & Brown Insuranceis seeking aHead of Data Insightsto join our growing team! This position can be located in one of our key offices in Atlanta, Nashville or Daytona Beach.

The Head of Data Insights is responsible for leading Brown & Brown's enterprise reporting and insights capability, owning the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of dashboards, management information (MI), and ad hoc analytics.

This role is accountable for ensuring that data is translated into actionable insight that drives commercial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across the business. The individual will lead a high-performing BI team and act as a key partner to senior stakeholders across sales, broking, finance, and operations.

How You will Contribute:

  • Define and deliver the enterprise BI and reporting strategy aligned to business priorities.

  • Establish a clear vision for self-service analytics, standardized reporting, and insight generation. Drive the transition from reactive reporting to proactive, insight-led decision support.

  • Dashboarding & Reporting Ownership - Own and govern all business-critical dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting across the organization. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and standardization of metrics and definitions (single version of truth). Rationalize legacy reporting and drive adoption of scalable, modern BI tools.

  • Insights & Decision Support - Lead the delivery of high-impact, ad hoc analysis and insight requests from senior stakeholders. Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations. Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for revenue growth, margin optimization, and operational improvement.

  • Stakeholder Management - Act as a trusted advisor to executive and senior business stakeholders. Proactively engage with broking, placement, claims, and finance teams to shape insight requirements. Manage demand intake and prioritization across competing business needs.

  • Team Leadership & Delivery - Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of BI analysts and data visualization specialists. Establish clear operating models, delivery standards, and SLAs for reporting and insights. Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Data Governance & Quality (in partnership with Data teams) - Ensure reporting integrity through strong alignment with data governance and data quality frameworks.

  • Champion best practices in data modelling, semantic layers, and metric definitions.

  • Tools, Platforms & Innovation - Own and optimize the BI tooling ecosystem (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.). Drive adoption of automation, AI-assisted analytics, and scalable data products. Continuously improve performance, usability, and accessibility of dashboards.

Skills and Experience to be Successful:

  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or similarly complex, matrixed environments

  • 8-12+ years in data analytics, business intelligence, or insights roles

  • Proven experience leading BI/reporting teams in complex, data-rich organizations

  • Track record of delivering enterprise-wide reporting transformation initiatives

  • Deep expertise in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)

  • Strong SQL and data modelling knowledge (semantic layers, star schemas, etc.)

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, etc.)

  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles
