Job description

**This posting is for one (1) full-time Temporary position ending on or before May 30, 2027 **

The Edmonton Police Service requires one (1) positive individual committed to providing exemplary customer service to assume the position of customer service representative in the Police Information Check Unit.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  •  Accurately processing police information check applications and preparing police information check certificates.
  • Providing excellent customer service to police information check, civil fingerprinting, and alarm permit applicants.
  • Collecting and processing fees for police information checks, civil fingerprinting services, and alarm permits and invoices.
  • Responding to customer inquiries either on the phone, in person or by electronic mail, including reception desk cover.
  • Performing general office duties including collecting and distributing mail in addition to other related duties as required. 
Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications and a minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.  OR  Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to data entry or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college and a minimum of two (2) years diversified data entry experience including general office procedures. 
  • A minimum of one (1) year recent cash handling experience including point of sale terminal experience.  
  • A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills.  Previous customer relations experience would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with City of Edmonton cash handling procedures would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in CPIC, JOIN and Niche UA would be considered an asset.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Hours of Work:  40 hours per week, 8 hours per day.  Work shift is 0745hrs to 1615hrs Monday to Friday

Salary Range:  21B, Salary Grade: 007, $25.17 - $31.25 (Hourly), $2,013.90 - $2,500.50 (Bi-Weekly), $52,563.31 - $65,262.53 (Annually)
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton
