Job description

Southeast Houston | Temporary | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Well-established Houston company is seeking a sharp, dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Support Specialist to provide temporary assistance with accounting department overflow. The length of assignment is currently undetermined and will be based on business needs. This is a hands-on support role that will primarily involve data entry and general accounting support.

The ideal candidate is someone who is accurate, organized, professional and a quick learner, with a great attitude and a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed. While this is primarily a data-entry role, some prior Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely data entry
  • Provide general accounting support and assist with department overflow
  • Enter and maintain accounting information in the company’s system
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable-related tasks as needed
  • Use Excel for basic data entry, organization and reporting
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working efficiently
  • Assist the accounting team with other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Prior office, accounting support and data entry experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working with numbers and entering information efficiently
  • Basic Excel skills
  • Able to learn new software and processes quickly
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Professional demeanor and positive, can-do attitude
  • Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable experience is a plus, but not required
