Job description

Data Entry Specialist

Our client is seeking a Data Entry Specialist to provide administrative and operational support to its Human Resources Services (HRS) department. The selected candidates will support personnel processing, data management, recruitment operations, and other HR administrative functions while ensuring accurate and timely recordkeeping.

  • Perform data entry, verification, and maintenance of personnel records.
  • Prepare reports and maintain spreadsheets, tracking logs, and other recordkeeping systems.
  • Process reappointments and appointment letters.
  • Assist with Time and Leave reports.
  • Generate notification letters and other personnel-related correspondence.
  • Support the review of contracts and personnel transactions to help ensure accurate entries into CUNYfirst.
  • Coordinate with academic departments and programs to organize documentation and monitor personnel deadlines.
  • Assist with routine follow-up for adjunct, College Assistant, and classified staff personnel actions.
  • Support the Recruitment Unit's transition to CUNYWork.
  • Maintain the integrity of job postings and recruitment operations across both TAM and CUNYWork.
  • Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with data entry or administrative support.
  • Ability to accurately manage and maintain records.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CUNYfirst, TAM, CUNYWork, or other HR systems is a plus.
