Job description

Job Purpose The role will be material handling with an emphasis in picking customer orders, loading and unloading of semi-trailers, along with other inventory duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Efficiently identify location of parts in PDC (Parts Distribution Center), pick the quantity of each part as reflected on each customer order line, complete order paperwork, prepare and pack product for shipment.
  • Load trailers by hand or in combination of powered forklifts, carts, and other ancillary equipment as required.
  • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders.
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Regularly contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Work mandatory overtime when required.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and digital methods (email, text messages, etc.) in a manner that is professional and within company policy and as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist with all aspects of shipping, receiving, counting, movement, and organizing of materials as part of warehouse operations as directed by supervisor.
  • Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks.
  • Conduct cycle and physical counting of all materials as assigned.
  • Accurately document all shipments whether inbound or outbound.
  • Use/interface computer system to access information and process paperwork in a timely manner when required for the tasks being performed.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision from a warehouse supervisor or by direction of other warehouse management.
  • Move and transfer products between various sections of the warehouse as needed to maintain good housekeeping and for proper materials organization.
  • Stack, shelve, and stage items for storage and shipment in a manner that will not damage materials, equipment, or place others at risk of being injured.
  • Follow all warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs) when performing job duties.
  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently according to company policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret all warehouse documents needed to perform duties as expected such as but not limited to, customer orders, picklists, bills of lading, packing slips, inventory reports, emails, standard operating procedures, and memos.
  • Perform cycle counting of inventory.
  • Perform product loading and unloading tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of performance in all areas as defined by warehouse management.
  • Unload, stack, move, and place products in designated areas if designated areas exist.
  • Perform all daily checks on equipment as required.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Ensure the safety of others working in the vicinity of moving vehicles.
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts to supervisor and/or management that may cause risk of injury to personnel or equipment.
  • Always adhere to health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as required.
  • Loading/unloading materials from trailers and trucks per standard operating procedures and common practices.
  • Operate all types of tools and machines essential and necessary to the job, including, but not limited to, computer systems, forklifts, hand jacks, tape measures, calculator, computers, loading docks, cranes, scales, data collection equipment, radios, and copy machine.
  • Perform regular housekeeping duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required by the company
