Position Overview: 

Under the supervision of the Centralized Underwriter Manager, the Underwriting Support Specialist provides policy service support and centralized services to the Insurance Operations department.

Inbound calls with service levels to support customers and no cold calling.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Personal commitment to providing exceptional service in every internal and external customer engagement
  • Provide customer service by responding promptly and courteously to all requests for information
  • Effectively communicate company standards, mission, underwriting guidelines, and requirements
  • Rating new business accounts and renewals accounts as assigned
  • Endorsement processing
  • Diary item follow up
  • Renewal app follow up
  • Policy issuance
  • Develop amicable working relationships with team members, handle agent special service requests
  • Provide training and mentoring for other members of the Insurance Operations team
  • Other duties as assigned by management

 Job Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of data entry and/or loan underwriting experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to meet production, quality and service standards
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, while practicing sound lending judgment
  • Ability to assess information with strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs.
