Responsibilities

Job Requirements: Education and/or Experience:High school degree required.College degree preferred.3-5 years demonstrated production supervision in manufacturing is required.Demonstrated experience in lean mfg production techniques is preferred.Computer experience (Microsoft) and production floor data entry and retrieval systems.

Language Skills:Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.

Job Description:  Objectives:The position requires the candidate to oversee a shift operation in our production department, including safety, quality control, production output and cost efficiency.  The supervisor must promote and maintain effective work team behaviors by the team members.  Also, must maintain respectful employee relations and employee development.

Responsibilities:Ensure departmental and individual safetyEnsure process and performance goals are achieved through hands on leadership, audits, corrective action and follow up.Meet customer quality expectations by maintaining quality standards, training, audits, and development of control systems.Monitor quality paperwork, SOP, and ISO standards.Maintain adequate staffing levels and overtime control.Provide timely feedback and fair evaluations on the performance of hourly workforce.Work with shift employees to help them resolve problems themselves when appropriate.Fair enforcement of policies and procedures through coaching and progressive discipline process as necessary.Oversee changing internal and external customer expectations for product quality on shift.Work with other staff and management to meet the vision and values of the company.

Qualification Requirements:Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse and experienced work force.Ability to become familiar with production processes quickly.Excellent team building skills.Able to deal with stressful situations.Familiar with governing regulations, e.g. OSHA, AIB, EEO, FMLA.

Physical Demands:Must work a 12 hour night shift.Requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending and reaching.Requires pushing and pulling roll carts and hoists.Requires lifting up to 55 pounds.Requires ascending and descending ladders throughout the work day.
