Job Summary
Seeking enrolled Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students for part-time Pharmacy Interns to support pharmacy operations while gaining hands-on experience in a professional retail pharmacy setting. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Intern will assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, provide patient care services, and contribute to the overall efficiency of pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in accurately preparing and dispensing prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including counseling patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence under pharmacist supervision
  • Administer immunizations in accordance with Indiana state regulations and pharmacy protocols
  • Perform prescription transfers and communicate effectively with other pharmacies and healthcare providers
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients in person and over the phone
  • Process prescription orders, including data entry and insurance claim adjudication
  • Operate point-of-sale systems to complete transactions for prescriptions and over-the-counter products
  • Receive, verify, and stock medications and supplies while maintaining proper inventory levels
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support additional clinical and operational duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership

Qualifications
Currently enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, Active Indiana Pharmacy Intern license in good standing. Strong communication and patient counseling skills & ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn pharmacy systems. This position provides valuable practical experience in community pharmacy practice and patient care. Also requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. Immunization certification and CPR certification may be required or obtained during employment
