Admissions Coordinator I - Infusion

We are seeking an experienced Admission Coordinator I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infusion therapy intake, excellent communication skills, and the ability to serve as a resource for both internal teams and referral sources. This role involves managing the full admission process, coordinating services, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties of Admission Coordinator I with added responsibilities.
  • Serve as a resource for infusion therapy, enteral therapy, durable medical equipment, and associated services.
  • Initiate and coordinate patient admissions, ensuring timely collection and entry of referral data into CPR+.
  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and manage benefit checks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources and outside agencies to facilitate seamless patient transitions.
  • Coordinate start of care with referral sources, patients, pharmacy, nursing, and delivery teams.
  • Manage documentation such as Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), Statements of Medical Necessity (SMNs), and Detailed Written Orders (DWOs).
  • Participate in team meetings and quality improvement activities.
  • Negotiate payment rates with insurance agencies and maintain knowledge of revenue and reimbursement processes.
  • Act as an educational resource regarding product lines and payer coverage.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local insurance providers, indigent care sources, and reimbursement policies.
  • Perform data entry with high accuracy, ensuring timely submission of paperwork.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patient admission and intake processes.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in infusion intake or related healthcare roles.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and prior authorizations.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including typing and data entry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Preferred: Experience in home infusion intake, knowledge of government and commercial insurance payor coverage.
