JOB TITLE:         Member Engagement Intern

PAY:                   $20/hour

EMPLOYER:      National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO)

DEPARTMENT: Strategy

REPORTS TO:   Membership Manager

LOCATION:       Remote/Hybrid


SUMMARY: The National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) seeks an experienced professional to serve as Member Engagement Intern. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent customer service and database skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Knowledge and experience maintaining databases is a plus. The Member Engagement Intern supports the Membership team in providing exceptional service to NASPO members. Responsibilities include assisting with member inquiries, supporting event registration and membership processes, maintaining and updating member records, performing data entry, helping with database management, and contributing to member engagement initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in association management, member services, data administration, and professional communications.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Membership

Maintain membership database to ensure accurate, complete, and reliable information including the entry of all new and renewing individual membership information, eliminating duplications, and any other miscellaneous administrative database activity to maintain accuracy,

Coordinate membership-related documents, reports, and marketing materials.

Coordinate all administrative membership activities and outreach including but not limited to scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, taking meeting notes, and coordinating follow-up materials or requests.

Coordinate membership-related NAPSO conference activities such as assisting members with event registration and conference travel questions.

Research and/order promotional items for events

Oversee the automated communication regarding various member statuses.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications or related fields is strongly recommended but not required.

Strong skillset and familiarity with all Microsoft tools.

Excellent customer service skills and attitude.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively and professionally.
