Position Summary
Brightwater Senior Living is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations with accuracy, integrity, and efficiency. This role is essential to ensuring our employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in payroll and accounting systems, a solid understanding of payroll tax and benefits administration, and a commitment to confidentiality and precision. This position works closely with Human Resources and Finance to ensure seamless payroll processing and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process multi-entity payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain detailed records of employee hours, wages, benefits, and tax information to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations using general ledger accounting techniques, including journal entries, debits and credits, and account reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with HR to verify employee data changes, new hires, terminations, and benefits enrollment.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll-related reports, including payroll expenses, tax filings, and government reporting.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities related to payroll transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and ensuring data accuracy across payroll and financial systems.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and payroll information at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven experience processing payroll using systems such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or comparable payroll platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, and basic financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration processes; experience in non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent data entry skills, including 10-key typing, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
