Job description

Shipping Clerk

The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for but not limited to answering phones, scheduling shipments, data entry, problem solving and working closely with our internal customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record shipments and inventories in SAP (must know SAP T-codes)
  • Coordinate, and maintain shipping/receiving requests and documents
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, including creating BOLs
  • Create complete receiving and shipping transactions
  • Ensure compliance for the Shipping Department to all company and government safety standards.
  • Prepare reports and file shipping/receiving records
  • Assist in resolving any daily shipping and receiving discrepancies

Qualifications, Education and Required Skills

  • Proficiency with database applications (SAP)- THREE YEARS EXPERIENCE
  • Must be willing to work flexible and extended hours as required, including some weekends.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a current valid State Driver's License
  • Possess a Valid TWIC card at time of hire.
  • The ability to read, write, understand and speak English
  • A minimum of one year of previous work experience
  • Detail oriented; Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Demonstrated good internal customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

Previous experience in dispatch, warehousing or transportation a plus but not required.
