Job Description:
Job Summary
Are you ready to make a difference in the world of veterinary medicine? Join the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and become a vital part of our mission to enhance animal welfare through innovative engagement programs! In this exciting role, you'll provide administrative support for the Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) Department, assisting with a variety of tasks including maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings and events, arranging travel, and handling incoming inquiries. You'll create agendas, flyers, and promotional materials, update and maintain websites, databases, and mailing lists, and assist in preparing reports. Additionally, you'll update, revise, and maintain faculty CVs and promotion documents, manage faculty and resident award materials, and create and provide survey results using the Qualtrics program. You'll also provide clerical and office support to VCS Department and Purdue Veterinary Hospital faculty, clinicians, and staff, including distribution of emails and maintaining departmental office supplies inventory.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2 years of experience in a clerical or administrative support role

Skills Needed:
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Typing, drafting, filing, data entry, proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to identify routine problems and implement or recommend solutions
