Job description

SUMMARY
Assist the Government in receiving, screening, storing, inventory management, cataloging, processing, data entry, record keeping, and distribution of supplies as required to assist the Division of Logistics & Commuter Services DLCS section of CMS in Baltimore, MD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, store, screen, inventory, catalog, process, perform data entry, maintain records, distribute, manage, and dispose of CMS assets.
  • Assist with marking assets and inputting asset data in the systems used by CMS.
  • Assist the Government with maintaining, managing, controlling, conducting inventories of, distributing, and accounting for all assets in designated storage areas.
  • Utilize CMS systems to provide hand receipt support to maintain CMS worldwide asset accountability.
  • Assist with moving IT equipment, furniture, and other facility-related assets as needed.
  • Assist with the disposal of excess material.
  • Assist with the screening and scanning of all material coming into the warehouse.
  • Assist with distribution services for mail, small parcel services when required.
  • Assist with the outbound movement of small parcels and large-load cargo.
  • Track packages, containers, etc., from start to end while maintaining responsibility for overall shipping and delivery results.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience working in a Logistics warehouse.
  • Knowledge of CMS computer systems.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
  • Due to contractual requirements, employees in this position are subject to random drug testing as a condition of employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Experience in operating a 5-ton truck and forklift.
  • HAZMAT certified.
  • Proficient in using computer systems to retrieve data from the CMS system, input data into Express Mail, commercial mail systems, and provide reports as required.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignments or projects.
TRAVEL
The expected travel time is less than 50%.
DRIVING REQUIREMENT
Must have or be able to attain a valid state issued driver's license to operate a motor vehicle and be insurable on the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required. The expected driving time is 50%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and loading dock environment. The work area includes concrete flooring and may be drafty, noisy, dusty, and subject to varying temperatures. Employees operate warehouse equipment, hand and power tools, and powered material-handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, wrappers, and similar machinery. Work may be performed in warehouse, storage, dock, and agency facility locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position consists of sitting for short periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, lifting, and carrying boxes, pouches and bags weighing up to 80 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling and working with small objects.   • Pay: $36.47 per hour
  • Health & Welfare Fringe: $5.09 per hour up to 40 hours per week
