Job Summary: Entry-level position. Under immediate supervision: Performs overall processing functions for returned deposited items, posting rejects, and ACH returns efficiently and accurately. Provides superior customer service to branches and departments. Must be able to work in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple desk assignments while keeping well organized to meet deadline.


Essential Functions: Performing Functions

  1. Returned Deposited Items: Research and process returned checks on automated systems. Balance GLs and bancontrols.
  2. Posting Rejects: Research and determined distribution of items using correct account numbers and tran-codes. Maintain knowledge of ACH rules and regulations. Review instructions upon receipt, verifying accuracy and completeness.
  3. Data Entry/Reconciliation: Accurately entering information into relevant systems. Balancing general ledgers and bancontrols.
  4. Quality Control/Compliance: Ensuring all processes adhere to established policies and procedures. Adhering to all relevant regulations and security standards.
  5. Other: Perform additional job responsibilities as required and assist with customer inquiries and problem resolution in above in all tasks.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB FUNCTIONS:

General clerical experience to include PC and general office equipment, 10-key, copier and fax machine. Must be detail oriented, reliable, flexible, and be able to meet established deadlines. Excellent analytical, research, organizational, interpersonal communication and customer service skills required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sits for long periods keying or retrieving data using PC keyboard.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds.
  • Must be mobile enough to move between and around work area.

Mental Demands:

  • Pay attention to details to ensure required information is accurately recorded in system.
  • Ability to follow established policy and procedure to meet department goals.

EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORMED FUNCTIONS:

  • PC, 10-Key adding machine, copier, fax machine, telephone.

DECISION MAKING:

  • Identify and notify supervisor of potential problems/delays in processing daily work.
