Job description

Crouse’s Perioperative Revenue Clerk/Secretary Unit team is hiring a Surgical Revenue Clerk to coordinates activities which pertain to the efficient scheduling and accurate record keeping of the patients who are admitted into the Surgical Suite. They are also responsible for accurate and timely documentation of post-op data and surgical charges.

Pay Range: $19.89 - $31.85 / hour based on experience 

Available Schedule(s):

  • Part-time 16 hours/week: 3:30pm-7:00pm with rotation of weekends (Saturdays 7:00am-3:30pm and Sundays 7:00am-11:00am), holidays & other shifts as needed

Surgical Revenue Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Records and transmits information on all case cancellations accurately and contacts all necessary departments in a timely manner and adds cancelation charge when necessary.
  • Meticulously prepares and performs patient charges accurately and within the established time frame set by the Business Office.
  • Records and transmits information for add-ons timely and accurately and notifies appropriate departments, doctors, and doctor's offices.
  • Accurately and timely enters post-operative data from operating room record into electronic system.

Surgical Revenue Clerk Requirements:

  • Associates Degree required, OR successful completion of two (2) years of post-secondary education
  • Minimum of one (1) year of administrative experience in a fast paced healthcare setting. Previous experience with data entry into computer systems/databases to generate billing revenue.
  • Preferred - previous experience with Clinical billing/charging.
  • Must pass a medical terminology test with a minimum grade of 75%. Testing will be administered by Human Resources.
