Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our hematological malignancies registry and in coordinating a project aiming at addressing health disparities across Georgia. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and improve patient outcomes in the field of hematology and other malignancies.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Registry Management : Data Collection and Entry: Accurately collect, enter, and manage patient data related to hematological and other malignancies in the registry database. Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data by performing regular quality control checks and audits. Database Management: Maintain and update the registry database, ensuring data integrity and security. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Project Management : Study Coordination: Coordinate research studies aiming at addressing the access of women living in rural areas of Georgia and South Carolina to breast and cervical cancer screenings. Protocol Development: Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols and standard operating procedures. Generating protocols for clinical research and submitting them to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Timeline Management: Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met according to the study plan.
Research Support : Literature Review: Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects and stay updated on the latest advancements in hematological malignancies. Data Analysis: Assist in the analysis of registry data to identify trends, patterns, and research opportunities. Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on registry data for internal and external stakeholders. Grant Writing: Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications to support research initiatives.
Collaboration and Communication : Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and data managers to achieve project goals. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with external partners, including healthcare providers, research institutions, and funding agencies. Training and Support: Provide training and support to new staff and collaborators on the use of the registry database and related protocols.
Other Duties : Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as biology, biostatistics, epidemiology, or public health or other directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical research.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as biology, biostatistics, epidemiology, or public health or other directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in clinical research, data management, or registry management, preferably in the field of hematology or oncology.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality data standards.
Experience with Hematological Malignancies: Specific experience working with hematological malignancies or related registries.
Experience with human subjects training in a clinical research capacity or setting.
Experience in a clinical and/or research setting working with patients.
Previous supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Strong customer service, multi-tasking, organizational and multi-tasking skills; detail oriented.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: B8
Salary Minimum: $45,400
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
