At California Sinus Centers we specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of routine and advanced nasal and sinus issues. We are seeking a motivated, medical receptionist, preferably with medical assistant experience, Monday through Friday 8- 5 pm for our Walnut Creek and a satellite location.
Job Description: Be the face of California Sinus Centers both in person and on the phone, create a warm and welcoming environment for all who enter our doors, be a liaison between patients and our practice.
Job Tasks: Greet all patients, callers, and visitors with a warm and welcoming attitude, answer phones and triage calls as needed for California Sinus Centers; check patients in and out of clinic; send, collect, and enter all new patient information received via fax, mail, and email, prepare patient charts, add referring providers to the Epic electronic medical record system, update patient demographic information as requested by patients/back office staff, schedule patient appointments using provider preferences, collect, screen and disperse daily faxes, open and disperse all incoming mail, scan documents as requested by back office staff, restock/organize all items in the reception area, conduct benefit checks for all new patients/as requested, obtain on-demand procedure and CT scan authorizations, fulfill on-demand requests for visit notes from referring providers, collect all in-office payments, ensure all patients have a photo in their chart, ensure an AVS is printed for every patient.
Role(s): General Assistant to all providers, patient liaison, data entry.
Competencies: Attention to detail, listening skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, time-management, compassion/empathy, knowledge of commonly used medical terminologies, professionalism, problem-solving, excellent typing skills (50+ wpm)
Strongly preferred qualifications: Electronic Health Records experience (EPIC) Preferred 1+ years experience as a Medical Receptionist in an outpatient medical clinic
Education Requirements: Certified Medical Assistant Certificate preferred
Compensation based on experience: $24-26/hour Job Type: Temporary Full-time (30-40 hrs/week)
