ROLE : DATA ENGINEER

LOCATION - TULSA OK (HYBRID ONSITE)

DURATION : 6-MONTH CONTRACT

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting and enhancing a primarily on-prem SQL Server 2019 environment
  • Developing and maintaining SSIS-based ETL pipelines, including metadata-driven and dynamic ETL processes
  • Working with a variety of data sources and file formats to support enterprise data needs
  • Collaborating with engineering and data teams using modern DevOps practices

What We’re Looking For (8+ years preferred):

  • Strong experience with SQL Server 2019 and advanced SQL development
  • Hands-on experience with SSIS
  • Experience using Azure DevOps and Git
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio and C# (reading, maintaining, and debugging code)
  • Experience ingesting data from multiple source types, including:
    • Fixed-width files
    • Sub-record type files
    • CSV files
    • Oracle databases
    • Kafka (preferred, not required)
  • Experience working in a Type 2 historical data environment, including change data capture (CDC)

Cloud Experience (HIGHLY Preferred):

  • Practical experience with AWS, such as S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift, or Glue
  • Experience integrating or supporting hybrid on-prem and AWS-based data solutions
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data pipeline and storage best practices.

Description of job duties:

They will be working on ETL Projects for the Enterprise Data Solutions team ingesting data from many different sources.  Developing with Advanced level SQL, SSIS, Visual Studio, GIT for the most part. Proficiency in leveraging AI enabled tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to improve productivity and analysis.  A plus will be experience in AWS related to data engineering.

Experience required:

  • 8+ years preferred in data centered development with primarily on-prem SQL Server in years of experience
  • Experience utilizing AI powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot)
  • Azure DevOps / Git experience
  • SSIS
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL (the main platform is SQL Server 2019)
  • Visual Studio with C# experience  (maintain, read, and debug code)
  • Knowledge in metadata-driven dynamic ETL.
  • Experience with ingesting multiple types of data sources (Fixed width files, Sub-record type files,CSV type files, Oracle, Kafka)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in AWS data engineering, including data ingestion, transformation, and integration with Amazon S3 and related services; experience with Five Tran preferred but not required.
