POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Engineer II oversees the architecture, engineering, maintenance, integration, and continuous development of the data management program, specifically related to how customer banking data is utilized throughout the Company. This position is responsible for the data architecture, engineering and integrity of the data warehouse. The Data Engineer II is a resource for business units to maintain data integrity and improve efficiencies, scalable frameworks, standards and data best practices while upholding integrity and privacy across the data ecosystem and lifecycle. This position reports to the Director of Data amp; Analytics and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company values and supporting the mission.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the architecture, engineering, maintenance, integration, and continuous development of the data management program, specifically related to how customer banking data is utilized throughout the Company
  • Responsible for the data architecture, engineering and integrity of the data warehouse
  • Serve as primary contact for the data warehouse
  • Coordinate data changes, new data interfaces and assist subject matter expert (SME) administrators as needed
  • Develop file parameter requirements
  • Create and transmit various data files to third parties as scheduled and/or required
  • Serve as primary point of contact for questions regarding data integrity issues
  • Participate in all data warehouse projects and provide SME support as needed
  • Serve as a data SME, providing in-depth knowledge regarding systems, interfaces, and vendors that directly support primary business functions
  • Collaborate with the Applications team to create cohesive approaches to primary systems and ancillary data applications
  • Address current and emerging needs by utilizing business applications
  • Collaborate with vendor provided support teams to resolve escalated incidents and problems related to the Bank’s data environments
  • Serve as a technical lead and mentor, providing hands-on engineering, technical design and delivery, leadership, and mentorship with MDM/DQ leading practices, governance, standards, and conventions
  • Provide technical leadership in evaluating, prototyping, and evolving the MDM framework in relation to the overall data governance strategy
  • Create and maintain internal and external documentation. Initiate and deliver required information and documentation.
  • Conduct daily systems analytics to maximize effectiveness
  • Troubleshoot issues across the Bank’s data environments
  • Assist in supporting metadata based on stakeholder requirements for multiple platforms
  • Perform data quality audits, identify data collection issues, recommend improvements, and assist with implementing fixes
  • Assess change proposals and assist in defining support solutions
  • Maintain data system compliance with banking regulations and internal procedures and processes.
  • Attend training as requested
  • Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Participate in outside community activities as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • 3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Banking experience preferred
  • Proficient with data warehouse architectures, data management processes, database languages like SQL, Python, DB2, Business Intelligence tools like Cognos, Query, Power BI, and data privacy regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical users to achieve results in alignment with strategic priorities
  • Ability to lead and influence discussions across a variety of stakeholders to achieve results and proactively address sources of conflict
  • Ability to foster a team environment through transparency and collaboration
  • Must possess interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diplomatically with stakeholders and communicate changes that may not be aligned with the original expectations
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and participate as an independent or team contributor and effectively interact with all types of personalities in dealing with employees and other customers
  • Must possess excellent organization and communication skills as well as the ability to interact in a helpful and professional manner
