Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure and SQL to design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions that support enterprise reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL performance tuning, data warehousing, and Power BI, with a strong understanding of modern ETL/ELT and data architecture best practices.

This role requires a highly analytical professional who can build reliable data pipelines, optimize database performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that drive business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects for high performance and scalability.
  • Perform SQL performance tuning by analyzing execution plans, optimizing indexing strategies, and improving query efficiency.
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions using dimensional modeling, including Star Schema, Fact Tables, and Dimension Tables.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reports for business intelligence and analytics.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and reliability across enterprise data platforms.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines, database performance, and reporting.
  • Implement best practices for data integration, governance, and performance optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related role.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced SQL development, joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and database programming.
  • Proven experience in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Experience developing, supporting, or enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, and Star Schema design.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and enterprise data integration.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) (Tabular and/or Multidimensional).
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database and/or Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience working with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
  • Knowledge of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
  • Familiarity with Azure data platform best practices, data governance, and cloud-based analytics solutions.
