Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

**This is a hybrid position with an onsite requirement of 1-2 days per week in Oakland, CA or Alpharetta, GA.
We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Engineer to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role requires strong technical depth, architectural thinking, and sound judgment in choosing between low-code, no-code, and pro-code approaches based on scalability, maintainability, and business needs.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across Salesforce core development, Sales Cloud, Partner Portals, and Salesforce Data Cloud, along with experience leveraging AI-driven solutions using leading LLM platforms. Experience with Salesforce Industries Cloud (especially Health Cloud) and Digital Insurance solutions is highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and deploy Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Flow Orchestration
  • Apply strong engineering judgment to select the appropriate no-code, low-code, or pro-code solution to meet functional, performance, and scalability requirements
  • Build and enhance Partner Portals / Experience Cloud solutions for external users
  • Develop and optimize solutions on Salesforce Sales Cloud
  • Implement and integrate Salesforce Data Cloud to enable unified, real-time customer insights
  • Design and support Revenue Cloud Advanced solutions, including product configuration, pricing, and billing workflows
  • Leverage Agentforce to implement AI-assisted workflows and intelligent automation
  • Design, integrate, and operationalize AI-powered features by working with large language models (LLMs), including OpenAI and Anthropic models (e.g., Opus, Sonnet), to enable conversational interfaces, automation, summarization, and decision-support use cases
  • Collaborate with architects and platform teams to integrate AI services securely and responsibly within Salesforce applications
  • Design and build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and middleware tools
  • Enforce best practices for security, data access, sharing, performance, and scalability
  • Participate in solution design discussions, peer code reviews, and release management
  • Collaborate with product, business, and architecture teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in Salesforce development and platform governance
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and Salesforce DevOps processes

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Salesforce platform experience with strong expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows and Flow Orchestration, and Salesforce Sales Cloud
  • Experience with any Salesforce Industry Clouds. Salesforce Health Cloud experience is highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with Salesforce Partner Portals / Experience Cloud
  • 2+ years of experience with Salesforce Data Cloud
  • 1+ year of experience with Revenue Cloud Advanced
  • 1+ year of experience with Agent force
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce security model, role hierarchy, sharing rules, and data modeling
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs and enterprise integrations
  • Salesforce Certifications (Required):
    • Salesforce Platform Developer I
    • Salesforce Platform Developer II
    • Salesforce Administrator Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound architectural decisions across low-code, no-code, and pro-code solutions
  • Ability to identify key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation to support the testing, installation, operations, deployment and maintenance of products
  • Proven ability to effectively present data to facilitate understanding of findings

    • Experience working in regulated industries such as insurance, healthcare, or life sciences.

    Base Pay Information
    The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
    Pay Grade 22. $93,445 - $202,465
