Radiology – Nuclear Medicine Technologist

San Angelo, TX 76903
Shift: 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM | 5 shifts per week | 40 hours weekly
Status: Open | Job Type: Full-time | Urgency: Hot Job
Salary: $55,000 – $80,000 (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000

Position Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic radiology procedures in accordance with established protocols and safety standards. This position ensures the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of imaging exams while providing excellent patient care and maintaining compliance with federal and hospital radiation safety guidelines.


Essential Job Functions
  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to established department protocols and schedules.

  • Maintain production and quality standards through proper use of imaging equipment, exposure factors, and quality control measures.

  • Demonstrate understanding of radiation dose reference levels and dose monitoring, and take appropriate action if thresholds are exceeded, including patient follow-up when required.

  • Utilize AIDET communication principles to ensure patient comfort, accuracy of procedures, and positive patient interactions.

  • Prepare patients for procedures, position accurately, and ensure immobilization devices are used properly.

  • Follow infection control, radiation safety, and sterile techniques in all patient interactions and procedures.

  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of equipment and work area; coordinate with engineers and physicists for maintenance and performance testing.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, patient records, and imaging data in accordance with facility policy and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as a preceptor/trainer for new technologists and assist in onboarding and continuous education efforts.

Certifications & Licensing
  • Certification: Registered or registry-eligible Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

  • Experience: New graduates accepted.


Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $55,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience)

  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000
