Data Dimensions information

What are data dimensions?

Data dimensions are attributes or perspectives by which data can be categorized, organized, and analyzed. In the context of data management and analytics, dimensions such as time, geography, product, or customer allow users to slice and dice data for deeper insights. For example, a sales dataset might have dimensions like region and sales period, enabling users to analyze performance by different locations or times. Understanding data dimensions is essential for building effective reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions. They help transform raw data into meaningful information for decision-making.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a data analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in statistics, and a background in mathematics or computer science. Familiarity with data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, Python, R, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and effective communication skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills are essential for extracting meaningful insights from data, supporting business decisions, and clearly conveying findings to stakeholders.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in data dimensions roles, and how can they overcome them?

Professionals in data dimensions roles often encounter challenges related to ensuring data quality, consistency, and proper integration across multiple data sources. Managing large volumes of data and maintaining accurate dimensional hierarchies can be complex, especially in organizations with rapidly evolving datasets. To overcome these challenges, it's important to establish clear data governance practices, collaborate closely with data engineers and business analysts, and leverage robust data management tools. Continuous learning and staying updated on best practices in data modeling and warehousing also contribute to long-term success in this field.

Job description

Company Description

Join the Alto-Shaam Team

Virtually Tour our Facility:https://app.cloudpano.com/tours/piGHjskWR

Whether you're just beginning your career or have years of assembly experience—you've come to the right place. Working at Alto-Shaam means you’re part of a passionate team of people all working together towards one common goal. We want you on our team, because you believe in getting better every day. That kind of continuous improvement is what leads to promotions, pay raises, and company-wide innovation.

Since 1955, Alto-Shaam has pioneered industry-leading foodservice equipment that anticipates and responds to industry needs. Our solutions have helped generations of foodservice professionals enhance their menus while providing a greater return on their investment.

Job Description

Inside Sales Operations

  • Prepare quotes for dealers and sales representatives and turn them around quickly.

  • Support order entry, order status, lead times, and ship-date communication.

  • Answer product, configuration, and availability questions, and pull in a Regional Sales Manager or our culinary team when a question needs deeper expertise.

  • Support dealers and Regional Sales Managers in every time zone. Anything that arrives after hours gets answered the same day or first thing the next morning.

  • Spot larger project opportunities and route them to the Regional Sales Manager who owns that territory.

Ecommerce and Digital Channel Support

  • Be the named Alto-Shaam contact for the ecommerce dealers who run their own in-house support teams.

  • Own the flow of accurate product information onto their sites: product page copy, specification sheets, dimensions and utility requirements, images, and comparison data. You will coordinate these packages with our Marketing team.

  • Audit what is published about our equipment on those sites, find what is out of date or wrong, get it corrected, and confirm the fix.

  • Answer the product and application questions their support teams and customers raise.

  • Pull the monthly digital channel summary together: content accuracy, open corrections, stocking depth, and whatever search and conversion data our partners share.

Pricing Policy Compliance

  • Review authorized reseller sites on a regular schedule to check how our equipment is priced and displayed against Alto-Shaam policy. Document what you find carefully: product, page, screenshot, date, and observation.

  • Send our standard first notice when something needs correcting, and escalate anything beyond that to your manager. This role works inside a defined framework rather than negotiating outcomes, and we will train you on exactly where the lines are.

  • Maintain the compliance log and the monthly summary, and help us automate the parts of this that should not be done by hand.

Project and Program Coordination

  • Keep trackers, action lists, owners, and due dates current for sales programs.

  • Build meeting agendas, capture decisions, and chase follow-ups to closure.

  • Help keep our CRM data clean, and support trade show lead capture and routing.

Qualifications

For a candidate to be successful as a Inside Sales and Digital Channel Coordinator they must have:

  • Two or more years in inside sales, sales operations, customer service, ecommerce, or account coordination. An associate or bachelor’s degree counts in place of experience.

  • Careful, clear writing. A meaningful part of this job leaves the building in writing, so we will ask you for a short writing sample.

  • Real comfort with spreadsheets. Lookups, pivot tables, cleaning up messy data, and the instinct to double-check a number before you send it.

  • Digital fluency. You move around ecommerce sites and product pages easily and you are curious about how people search for and buy things online.

  • Process discipline. You can follow a documented process consistently, and you speak up when it needs improving.

  • Composure. You will sometimes talk with people more senior and more assertive than you are. We need someone who can say “let me bring that to my manager” and mean it.

  • Curiosity about AI and automation. A lot of the monitoring and reporting in this role should get faster every quarter. We want someone who wants to be the reason it does.
