Job description

Avoq is seeking an exceptionally talented researcher to join our award-winning Insights team. Armed with an AI powered suite of advanced research & analytics intelligence tools and technology, Avoq’s Insights team is our engine for industry-leading innovation and actionable research that informs data-driven, best-in-class strategies for our clients.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Data Detective – You will spearhead research into trending news coverage, social media conversations, influencers, and public opinion to inform a wide array of strategic communications and marketing objectives across a diverse range of sectors and situations.
  • Tools and Tech Maven – In this role you will leverage Avoq’s suite of advanced data, research, and analytics intelligence tools to track issues across different sectors and geographies. Ideally, you will have experience with some of these tools but must have an interest in and aptitude for building a skillset in areas like social listening, media intelligence, legislative and policy tracking, and audience + market research.
  • Storyteller – Data needs to tell a story. You must have a natural curiosity about the world, cause and effect, and uncovering “the why” behind the data. You will collaborate with colleagues to synthesize your findings into compelling actionable recommendations, strategies, and presentations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Utilize data to uncover insights about trends and situations involving news media, social media, advertising, public policy, and communications
  • Contribute to new business initiatives through the generation and integration of unique insights
  • Assist in the development of compelling thought leadership, including white paper
  • Interface with other teams within Avoq to optimize insights for the development of communications strategies
  • Develop data-driven reports in a visually appealing, accurate and digestible way
  • Present insights data and findings to internal staff, clients and third-party stakeholders
  • Conduct paid, social, owned, and earned media listening reports by leveraging Avoq’s existing proprietary and third-party data and reporting tools

YOUR EXPERIENCE

As a qualified candidate, you have experience in all areas below:

  • Distilling critical data into research-driven insights & narratives
  • Analyzing situations to understand trends related to news media, social media, advertising, policy, and communications
  • Communicating professionally with internal teams and clients
  • Working independently on projects and collaborating with colleagues
  • Juggling multiple projects to deliver high-quality content under deadline
  • Managing time and details efficiently and consistently
  • Bringing creativity and new ideas to the table

As an exceptional candidate, you possess many of the following attributes:

  • Data-driven research, advertising, journalism, communications, media and/or language background
  • Experience conducting research using digital/social media analytics tools
  • Understanding of digital advertising, including how campaigns are developed, executed, and measured, as well as trends involving advertisers, publishers, and platforms
  • Experience working with public affairs firms, research or media planning agencies, public policy organizations, political campaigns, government or communication agencies
  • Track record of producing excellent writing, editing, research, and presentations
  • Superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency and comfortability with Excel functions (ex: pivot tables, conditional formatting, VLOOKUP, etc.) and PowerPoint
  • Experience effectively leveraging emerging AI tools and technologies to drive greater workflow efficiencies and stronger, more impactful insights & impacts

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - 80,000 per year
