Job description

HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's export compliance program, ensuring compliance with import & export regulations including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and CBP.
This is an in-office position based near Pontiac, MI

EXPECTATIONS

· Develop and manage the company's export compliance program, including policies and guidance
· Serve as the Empowered Official for ITAR licensing and certifications to the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls
· Conduct internal export compliance and awareness training for employees
· Provide expert guidance on exports under ITAR and EAR, including defense articles, technical data, and dual-use items
· Prepare, submit, and implement ITAR licensing including DECCS licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements, and Commodity Jurisdictions
· Prepare, submit, and implement EAR licensing and commodity classifications
· Conduct internal export compliance audits, investigate non-compliance, and prepare voluntary disclosures

ESSENTIALS

· 10+ years of experience in export controls
· Bachelor's degree preferred
· In depth knowledge of export jurisdiction, ECCN classification, licensing, exemptions and exceptions
· Solid understanding of import entry process with CBP and PGAs
· Experience with Technical Assistance Agreements and Technology Control Plans
· Familiarity with related U.S. regulations including OFAC, Antiboycott, BATFE, and FCPA
· Experience managing government contracts subject to ITAR compliance
· Must be a U.S. Person following ITAR regulations
