Job description

The Iron County School District is seeking a Part Time Data Collection Behavior Technician to work 27.5 hours per week beginning in August for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Part Time Data Collection Behavior Technician works under the Director of Behavior Programs and under direct supervision of a BCBA to collect data to inform Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. Responsibilities include conducting observations across multiple school environments utilizing many different data collection methods.  



  • Conducts direct behavioral observations of students within classroom and school environments.
  • Collects and documents Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence (ABC) data with accuracy and consistency.
  • Collects frequency, duration, latency, and momentary time sampling data related to student behavior and engagement.
  • Observes students in educational settings while remaining as unobtrusive as possible to reduce observer influence on student behavior.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding student information and behavioral observations across settings.
  • Organizes, summarizes, and submits behavioral data to the supervising BCBA within established timelines.
  • As requested, assists the BCBA in identifying behavioral trends, environmental variables, and potential behavioral functions through objective data collection.
  • Travels to multiple schools throughout the district based on referral needs and observation schedules.
  • Communicates professionally with school staff, administration, teachers, and district personnel regarding scheduling and observation logistics.
  • Maintains accurate and organized records of observations, data sheets, and documentation.
  • Participates in regular training related to behavior analysis, data collection procedures, confidentiality, and school district policies.
  • Adheres to all local, state, and federal policies and procedures regarding special education, student confidentiality, and behavioral supports.
  • Maintains professional conduct while working in classrooms and school environments.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required.
  • Complies with established district policies and procedures.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google Docs and spreadsheets, and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use district data systems and software as needed.
  • May involve physically active duties and exposure to challenging behavior.
