Are you a data analyst who enjoys building dashboards and reports to deliver key insights to stakeholders? The Weitz Company is hiring a Project Controls Data Analyst to join our Operational Excellent (OpEx) team. This exciting new role will develop and administer companywide dashboards and analytics to support cost management, quality, safety, and risk management across construction operations. The Project Controls Data Analyst will integrate project controls practices with modern data and business intelligence (BI) platforms to deliver accurate, scalable reporting for clear, actionable insights into project performance.

What Youll Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive and scalable dashboards and reports, applying best practices in data visualization and user experience to deliver clear insights into project performance, cost, schedule and risk areas key stakeholders
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (i.e. Databricks, Azure, P6, internal cost systems) to create a unified data model for reporting and analytics
  • Ensure end-to-end data pipelines accuracy and reliability of reporting
  • Provide data visualization to provide an expansive overview of integrated data
  • Create and update project control reports that highlight key performance indicators, trends, and risk factors for active construction projects
  • Collaborate closely with project controls teams to incorporate scheduling data into dashboards, providing visualizations of project timelines, milestones, and critical paths
  • Support cost management efforts by integrating budget, forecast, and actual cost data into BI reports, enabling real-time tracking of project financials
  • Identify and resolve issues in data pipelines, dashboard performance, and/or data accuracy, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable reporting
  • Refine dashboards based on user feedback, emerging best practices and evolving market trends
  • Work closely with project teams, IT, and OpEx team to understand reporting needs and ensure dashboards align with project goals
  • Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to help end-users interpret and apply dashboard insights effectively

What Were Looking For:

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of data analytics experience required
    • 3+ years of experience in a construction-related or project controls environment is a plus
    • Knowledge of Lean principles desired
    • Bachelors degree in data analytics, construction management, information systems, or related field; an equivalent combination of technical training and certifications may be considered
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights related to construction scheduling and cost control
    • Ability to convey/explain complex technical concepts in a way that other stakeholders can easily understand
    • Desire to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
    • Ability to troubleshoot data issues, optimize reporting processes, and ensure alignment with the company and industry project controls standards
    • Strong data visualization skills
    • Ability to build interactive and scalable dashboards
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technology:
    • High level of proficiency in PowerBI/Tableau, SQL, DAX, M-code, and cloud-based data integration tools i.e. Databricks, Azure) is required
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Ability to learn additional specific job-related software upon hire
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must be able to work onsite from a Weitz office location (this is not a remote role)
