This hands-on role is responsible for working closely with business partners to identify opportunities where the application of innovative data science techniques and methods can dramatically advance Chamberlain Group's business objectives. You will transform these priority opportunities into incremental business value through the design, development, and deployment of solutions using statistical and machine learning methods to provide insight that support Chamberlain Group's transformation and rapid growth. This high visibility role works directly with senior leaders and has a tangible impact on the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with business leaders and truly understand their strategy, key initiatives, and KPIs for success such that you have shared ownership for reaching their goals.

  • Identify and apply best analytical techniques to achieve business objectives.

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics solutions, including predictive and prescriptive outputs, insights, and visualizations to enable business users to make better data-driven decisions.

  • Execute analytic activities supporting solution development, including data gathering, cleansing, and integration, statistical transformation and modeling, and feature engineering and selection.

  • Develop deep understanding of internal and external data.

  • Create appropriate standards and processes to ensure quality and consistency of Decision Intelligence Group solutions.

  • Direct activities of associate/senior data scientists, third-party contractors, and consultants for specific business projects.

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.

  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Master's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or other quantitative field of study

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of statistics and machine learning methods, including regression, classification, time series analysis, clustering, simulation, dimension reduction

  • Demonstrated aptitude distilling complex business problems into clear data science and advanced analytics models and solutions that can and will be adopted and implemented

  • Ability to effectively lead projects from conception to conclusion, both independently and in a team environment (including working with both internal and external business partners)

  • Expertise developing and applying machine learning algorithms

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable business insights

  • Proficient in Python, R, SQL

  • Experience working with data science tools (e.g., Databricks); distributed compute; manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting large-scale data; and scaling analytics in the cloud (e.g., Azure)

  • Proven track record of leading projects and cross-functional teams

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

  • Doctorate in data science, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, engineering, or other quantitative field of study

Experience:

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies

  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • Experience with IOT, software-defined customer experiences, private equity backed companies

The pay range for this position is $102,600.00 - $193,425.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
