Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Low Voltage Data Center Technicians in Ashburn, VA. Technicians will work on a large-scale fiber project involving patches and bundled fiber. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, strong organizational skills, and strong fiber skills. The general duties include patching from patch panel to patch panel, patch panel to device, and device to device. Must be willing and able to climb ladders As a trusted partner in the construction industry, we connect top talent with top companies across the United States.

Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $26 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with various aspects of structured cabling installation, testing, and fiber splicing support.
  • Support OSP-focused work as well as in-building data center installations.
  • Help with fiber terminations, testing, labeling, bonding, and telecommunication room build-outs.
  • Work alongside experienced splicing techs on high fiber-count cables.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ year experience in structured cabling, OSP, or related construction.
  • Experience with fiber splicing highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with high fiber-count environments (e.g., Microsoft data center projects) is a plus.
  • Comfortable moving between data center sites across the Dallas / Fort Worth
  • Metroplex when needed.
  • OSHA 10 required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
  • Must promote the company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
  • 2+ years working in data centers, operations or related technical field.
  • General knowledge of server/network equipment and software support configurations.
  • Basic understanding of AC/DC power principles, data center power distribution and data center best practices.
  • Strong aptitude for independent working environment and high productivity rate.
  • Must be able to act as the company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
  • Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
  • Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.


Pay Transparency  
The anticipated salary range for this position is $28 to $35 Per Hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
