Job description

Data Center Cable Technician I

Location: Temple, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:45 PM (Schedule may change based on project needs)

Position Overview

We are seeking hardworking, dependable individuals to join a large-scale Data Center Buildout project. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in gaining experience in data center construction, cabling, and infrastructure installation. Team members will work both indoors and outdoors supporting the buildout of critical data center environments.

Candidates must be willing to travel for the first 3-6 weeks for paid training at other project sites. During travel assignments, lodging will be provided, and an additional daily per diem of $50/day will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pull and route various types of cabling throughout data center facilities.
  • Assist higher-level technicians with installation and infrastructure projects.
  • Transport, organize, and handle project materials and equipment.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Climb ladders and work at varying heights as required.
  • Install and support:
    • Wireway systems
    • Cable trays
    • Switches and receptacles
    • Additional electrical and low-voltage devices
  • Build and install telecommunications closets, including:
    • Backboards
    • Racks and cabinets
    • Patch panels
    • Cross-connect systems
    • Fiber optic hardware
  • Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling as required.
  • Complete terminations, including:
    • 110 blocks
    • 66 blocks
    • Patch panels
  • Assist with conduit installation and wire pulling activities.
  • Operate hand and power tools such as:
    • Cable cutters
    • Hammer drills
    • Compression tools
    • Jackhammers
    • Other construction-related equipment
Qualifications
  • Previous construction, cabling, electrical, or data center experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to travel for training assignments when required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
