Job Overview
Data Center Technician L3
The Data Center Technician L3 is an advanced, hands-on role supporting the build-out and ongoing operation of a high-performance, enterprise-scale data center environment.
This position is designed for experienced technicians who are comfortable owning complex tasks and serving as a technical escalation point within the site. You will play a key role during the initial deployment phase, contributing to hardware installation, structured cabling, and infrastructure bring-up. As the data center transitions into steady-state operations, you will take on increased responsibility for troubleshooting, incident response, and operational execution.
You will work across server, network, and infrastructure domains, collaborating closely with engineers and site leadership to maintain uptime and performance. This role requires strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, making clear and professional communication in English (written and verbal) essential for success in this role.
This role offers continuity across both deployment and operational phases, providing opportunities for long-term technical growth within a critical infrastructure program.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling during deployment phase
โ€ข Support system provisioning, configuration, and validation activities
โ€ข Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across Layer 1-3 (hardware, cabling, and network)
โ€ข Serve as a technical escalation point for complex operational issues
โ€ข Interface with network devices via CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Dell)
โ€ข Utilize Linux systems for troubleshooting and operational support
โ€ข Maintain accurate asset and inventory records using ITSM/DCIM tools
โ€ข Participate in change management, including maintenance windows and production changes
โ€ข Support transition from build phase to steady-state operations, including documentation and process adherence
โ€ข Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards
โ€ข Participate in on-call rotation supporting 24x7 operations
Required Skills
โ€ข Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required for coordination with cross-functional teams
โ€ข Advanced hands-on experience with data center hardware, cabling, and infrastructure environments
โ€ข Proficiency with Linux systems for troubleshooting and basic scripting tasks
โ€ข Ability to configure and troubleshoot network hardware using CLI tools
โ€ข Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management (installation, maintenance, decommissioning)
โ€ข Experience working within structured operational processes (SOPs, change management, ticketing systems)
โ€ข Familiarity with ITSM/DCIM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar)
โ€ข Strong cable management and structured cabling skills (fiber and copper)
โ€ข Ability to read and follow technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures
โ€ข Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
โ€ข Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
โ€ข Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently when needed
Physical & Operational Requirements:
โ€ข Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
โ€ข Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
โ€ข Ability to respond to on-call incidents within defined timelines
โ€ข Reliable transportation to work location(s)
โ€ข Ability to operate material handling equipment (certification preferred)
Required Experience
โ€ข 4+ years of experience in data center operations or similar technical environments
โ€ข Proven experience with rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling
โ€ข Experience provisioning and re-provisioning systems (USB, PXE, or network-based methods)
โ€ข Experience bootstrapping network devices and configuring IP addressing
โ€ข Working knowledge of Linux systems and basic scripting (e.g., Bash, Ansible)
โ€ข Experience supporting enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar)
โ€ข Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, Layer 2/3 concepts)
โ€ข Experience working within ticketing systems (Jira preferred)
โ€ข Knowledge of data center best practices (redundancy, fault tolerance, cabling standards)
โ€ข Basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and infrastructure systems
Preferred Certifications:
โ€ข CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent
โ€ข ITIL Foundation
โ€ข CCNA or similar networking certification

Estimated Pay Range: $23.47 - $47.00
