Job Title: Senior Wintel, Virtualization & Data Center Infrastructure SME (ITAR)

Location : Cary, NC(Onsite)

Contract

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Wintel Infrastructure SME to support customer enterprise Windows Server, Data Center, Virtualization, Cloud, and Active Directory environments. The role will be responsible for managing the full server lifecycle, virtualization platforms, Azure cloud services, patching, upgrades, infrastructure modernization, operational support, and mission-critical systems supporting ITAR/CUI-regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Windows Server environments across production, test, and disaster recovery platforms.
  • Perform server provisioning, installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, decommissioning, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Build, deploy, manage, upgrade, and decommission virtual machines within Nutanix, VMware, and Scale Computing environments.
  • Administer and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, authentication services, and access management.
  • Support Azure Cloud infrastructure, cloud-hosted Windows workloads, cloud migrations, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Manage data center infrastructure operations including server deployments, hardware refreshes, rack/stack activities, capacity planning, asset lifecycle management, technology refresh projects, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Support physical and virtual infrastructure across Windows Server, Nutanix, VMware, Scale Computing, storage, networking, and cloud platforms.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, availability, and capacity while proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of Windows, cloud, virtualization, and infrastructure incidents.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and provide Level 3 support for critical production incidents, outages, and escalations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, standards, runbooks, and compliance-related artifacts.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, database, application, networking, and cloud teams to ensure reliable and secure operations.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR/CUI requirements, security standards, governance controls, and operational best practices.
