The Global Server Operations team is responsible for monitoring the physical infrastructure behind Google's powerful search technology. The Hardware Operations Manager role involves managing a technical team and overseeing data center and facility operations to meet organizational goals and Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Key responsibilities include hiring, coaching, and developing staff, setting team priorities, and partnering with stakeholders to implement short- and long-term strategies. The manager will execute security and operational procedures, analyze trends for improvement, and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and infrastructure.

US: $138000 - $200000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Oversee the computing and networking operations of a data center site(s). Ensure SLOs are met and team performance is aligned to those goals.
  • Hire, coach, and develop a team of technical staff to meet objectives. Weekend, evening or off-hours management support may be required.
  • Identify problems and create solutions for computing and network architecture.
  • Work with others to set and implement short-term and long-term strategy for the site and ensure data center related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
  • Take responsibility for the management and implementation of multiple projects for your team.
