Job description

Fuel complex syndicated loan closings from setup to funding-where accuracy, pace, and partnership directly shape client outcomes. You'll help deliver a seamless closing experience by coordinating documentation, payments, and post-close controls alongside key stakeholders. JDA Rules.docx

As a Loan Closing Associate I within Deal Set Up and Funding, you will help facilitate syndicated loan closings by interpreting loan documentation, coordinating closing deliverables and payments, and ensuring accurate data capture. You'll partner closely with colleagues across the business-such as deal teams, legal partners, and servicing teams-to deliver a smooth closing process and a strong client experience. 

Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate across teams to interpret loan documentation and support accurate setup and processing of new deals
  • Coordinate principal and fee-related closing payments
  • Gather and validate required documentation prior to closing in partnership with transaction coordinators and other stakeholders
  • Manage and prioritize a pipeline of assigned transactions to meet closing timelines
  • Reconcile and govern exception reporting for recently closed transactions
  • Analyze amendments to agreements and/or deal structure changes and communicate impacts to account managers
  • Provide accurate data while maintaining a low quality control error rate
  • Escalate risks, issues, and timeline concerns early, with clear options and recommended actions

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3 years of commercial loan operations experience, including reading and interpreting loan documentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with clients and internal partners
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented mindset
