• Works closely with groups across Microsoft and the Government, which will include technical and operational leads, the service desk, and other contractors and providers to ensure smooth, coordinated service delivery across the environment.
• Manage program/project schedules and resources to ensure deliverables meet Government schedules.
• Resolve all issues/problems, allocate resources, manage project personnel, and manage project operations/performance.
• Drives project initiation for projects of all complexities, low, med, and high complexity (e.g., multiple offerings, multiple domains) by driving commitment of delivery resources, assigning resources, and creating work breakdown structures (WBSs) with delivery team.
• Maintains quality deliverable (e.g., documents) by identifying requirements, developing plans, and tracking outputs. Follows standard quality management processes and accommodates some customer acceptance requirements.
• Provides regular project status updates and ensures stakeholders are informed. Tracks and maintains customer deliverables.
• Oversees core project metrics projects to ensure adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Follows established change processes and confirms changes with customers before formally initiating the process.
• Manages finances for projects and budgets by tracking financial metrics and ensuring budgetary targets are met.
• Monitors and tracks risks and issues within projects, leveraging technical knowledge to identify and evaluate risks, perform qualitative analyses (e.g., probability, impact, urgency), record and track mitigation plans using available tools to input and update risk, and work with cross-functional groups to mitigate identified risks. Escalates risk scenarios through senior colleagues and customers as needed.
• Establishes clear expectations and accountabilities (e.g., reconfirm scope, Responsible-Accountable-Consulted-Informed matrix) with all project team members (e.g., consultants) and stakeholders through participation in internal and external kick-off meetings (e.g., sales to delivery handoff, formal kick-off meetings). Interacts with default stakeholders (e.g., customer sponsor, Microsoft project team members) and engages subject matter experts in holistic planning activities including team validation.
• Develops detailed project management plan to drive predictable delivery leveraging existing materials, to drive scope, resources, and Microsoft project schedule in alignment and collaboration with customer plan. Participates in basic contingency planning.
• Facilitates customer satisfaction by engaging with customers in a positive manner, reviewing customer feedback, and builds trusted relationships and supports colleagues in leveraging trusted relationships with internal resources to act as the voice of the customer with guidance from mentors on politically sensitive matters. Manages expectations by leading Success Expectation discussions with customers, and documenting, executing, and monitoring accordingly, leading customer and partner experience (CPE) processes.
• Adheres to project compliance standards (e.g., confidentiality, privacy) and requirements of the contract.
• Engages with other project managers and customer stakeholders at the customer site using technical expertise, develops stakeholder relationships, and escalates issues and ambiguous situations as needed.
• Maintains timely project closure by completing project sign off tasks (e.g., system closeout updates, deletion of customer data, Deliverable Acceptance Form). Drives incremental process improvement by reflecting on and sharing lessons learned with team and suggesting improvements to intellectual property (IP).
• Applies intermediate knowledge of project management principles to execution and delivery, serves as a mentor to less experienced colleagues, and builds their own capability through experience.
• Lead project planning and execution activities across multiple concurrent technical initiatives within secure government environments.
• Develop and maintain project management artifacts including integrated schedules, risk registers, action trackers, and status reporting.
• Establish clear project scope, stakeholder expectations, roles, responsibilities, and delivery milestones through customer engagements and cross-functional planning activities.
• Monitor project health by proactively tracking risks, dependencies, issues, customer deliverables, and key performance indicators (KPIs), escalating blockers as needed to maintain delivery momentum.
• Support Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms to maintain delivery visibility and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with customer stakeholders and Microsoft teams to drive issue resolution, maintain operational transparency, and support successful project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead day-to-day delivery execution for enterprise technology and cloud-based initiatives within secure government environments.
• Coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, networking, operations, and customer stakeholders to drive implementation activities, deployment readiness, issue resolution, and delivery milestones.
• Support technical modernization efforts, including infrastructure upgrades, cloud adoption, system integration, migration activities, and operational transition planning.
• Manage project schedules, dependencies, risks, action items, and technical deliverables across multiple concurrent workstreams using Agile and traditional project management practices.
