Starting Wage for this exempt position: $116,688.00-$160,451.20, depending on experience
Position Summary
The Manager of Quality and Safety provides leadership for the hospital's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and operational excellence. This role is responsible for coordinating organization-wide quality improvement initiatives, facilitating performance improvement activities, monitoring quality and patient safety outcomes, and ensuring alignment with CMS QAPI requirements and organizational strategic priorities.
The Manager of Quality and Safety partners with leaders, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for improvement, reduce patient harm, improve clinical outcomes, and foster a culture of high reliability. This position serves as an internal consultant and resource for quality improvement methodology, data-driven decision-making, performance excellence, and patient safety practices.
Position Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 5 years of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, performance improvement, project management, education, infection prevention, or related field
  • Experience in leading quality (preferred) or other improvement or change initiatives and facilitating multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of CMS Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) requirements
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality measurement, patient safety principles, and performance improvement methodologies
  • Ability to analyze complex data and communicate effectively, strong facilitation, coaching, and management skills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster engagement in improvement activities, excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through collaboration and relationship-building

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Quality Management, or related healthcare or quality-related field is required
  • Master's degree- preferred

Certification/Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)- preferred
  • Quality Improvement or Patient Safety certification- preferred
